You might be wondering, who IS Ember Candescence? The answer, Violyre’s replacement. That’s right, you read that correctly, Violyre is being retired from Tales of Equestria and Ember is her replacement. Ember is a completely different character to Violyre, it should be noted; she has a different appearance, personality and backstory, but is now also Pearl’s wife and Azure and Scarlet’s alternative mother, just as Violyre was.Again, special thanks to ~chibiachika for letting me use his character, Violyre, for so long!~~~Having grown up in the slums of Manehatten, Ember is very much defensive of the little ponies in life. She worked hard as a child to earn the money that she used to get herself into education. Her plan was to get a job and get her mother out of poverty too, however this never came to pass.Having met Pearl in college and both been significant forces in reducing rivalries and bullying between their clashing academies, the two got on brilliantly and their relationship as friends carried on even after education as more than just friends.Continuing her watching out for the little people and wanting to eliminate the threat of bullying, beside her wish for a change to the way Manehatten was run, Ember continued training after college and eventually managed to join the local guard force.Ember is the lone bringer of income for the family, although they do have support from Pearl’s parents, so she’s very serious about their money spent, so as to make sure she, Pearl and their two daughters never accidentally fall into the lower class living style she remembers from her childhood.EXTRA FACTS! Although Ember tries to avoid showing it, she actually has paint horse genes. She has several dark brown patches illustrating her body, but she does her best to hide them from the world, although it’s unclear as to why she’s so ashamed of them. She constantly ensures that the side of her face is covered so as to hide the darkened patch of fur on her face. Ember’s cutie mark is a small spark of flame, perhaps symbolising her fiery spirit and temper, or alternatively it could symbolise her belief of how something so small could make all the difference; a small ember could easily grow into a large inferno. Few ponies have actually seen this cutie mark however as she has a dark patch of fur over her flank that she keeps hidden. Although Pearl is the mother of her children, and they only came to be because of a stallion sperm donor, Ember’s genes were added to the embryos magically, so whereas she’s not technically blood related to Azure and Scarlet, she does still is a second parent. But hey, here’s the final piece of the series and the first appearance of the brand new character and replacement for Violyre, Ember Candescence!So here it is, the finale of the teenponi series! Ember grew up in the slums of Manehatten, slowly saving up bits to afford a higher education for herself so as to get her and her family out of poverty. Ember lost contact with her family eventually, but managed to escape that life herself. Ember’s temper was easily sparked, but she was fairly righteous, always sticking up for the little people, having known what it was like to be in that situation too. Ember’s fiery attitude was how she first met Pearl. Ember defended a student from her college being bullied by a student from a rival college; Pearl’s coltfriend. After saving Pearl from her abusive relationship she was lucky enough to be given a chance at love. The combination of Pearl’s belief in the good in everypony with Ember’s sense of justice dissipated much of the hostility between their two colleges. When I was with James this week I wrote a little poem about gender
and decided to draw a comic for said poem.Hope you guys enjoy!
So I have a question…
It’s been a while since I started about my gender and such. The fact that I’ve taken the time to come to grips with being trans is leading me to my GP this week to discuss it and, depending on what I decide, may mean I’ll start hormone replacement therapy.
However, I still haven’t told my parents and am kinda afraid of doing so; one’s religious and the other’s clearly a bit homophobic (I know being trans =/= being gay, but if I went the whole way I’d go from being a hetero male to a homo female).
So if there’s anybody here that’s been in a similar situation as this, say, coming out to your parents about your sexuality, gender identification, or just anything that you found it hard to tell them in general, please, any advice would be really appreciated.

So, what are your guys’ opinions on men wearing womens clothing? I don’t mean crossdressing and such, so I don’t mean men wearing bras, high heels skirts/dresses, etc.
I literally mean men wearing womens clothing simply for the sake of what looks good. What do you guys think?
